Terms & Conditions — Pet Care 

By booking services with Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services, the pet owner (“Client”) acknowledges and agrees that they are placing their pet(s) in the care, custody, and supervision of Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services and its authorized pet-care providers. The Client understands that caring for animals involves inherent risks and that, despite reasonable precautions and professional care, certain situations may occur that are unforeseeable or outside of the pet sitter’s reasonable control.

1. Pet Safety & Duty of Care

Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services will make reasonable and diligent efforts to provide a safe, supervised, and appropriate environment for all pets in our care. This includes taking reasonable precautions to prevent foreseeable hazards, injuries, escapes, conflicts between animals, and other preventable incidents.

However, the Client acknowledges that animals are unpredictable and may become injured, ill, frightened, aggressive, or otherwise behave unexpectedly despite appropriate supervision and reasonable precautions.

Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services shall not be held responsible for injuries, illnesses, behavioral incidents, escapes, or other events that are unforeseeable and could not reasonably have been prevented through the exercise of appropriate care and diligence, provided that our pet-care provider acted reasonably under the circumstances.

2. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services will make reasonable efforts to contact the Client and, when necessary, seek appropriate veterinary care. The Client authorizes Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services to obtain emergency veterinary treatment when reasonably necessary to protect the health or safety of the pet.

The Client is responsible for all veterinary, medical, medication, transportation, and emergency-care expenses incurred on behalf of their pet.

3. Property Damage Caused by Pets

The Client acknowledges that pets may cause damage to property, furniture, flooring, doors, walls, vehicles, personal belongings, or other property while in our care.

The Client is financially responsible for any damage caused by their pet(s) to Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services’ property, a pet sitter’s property, a client’s property, a vehicle, or any third-party property.

This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by chewing, scratching, digging, urinating, defecating, destruction of furnishings or belongings, or other pet-related behavior.

The Client agrees to reimburse Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services or the affected property owner for reasonable costs associated with repairing or replacing damaged property.

4. Client Responsibility & Disclosure

Clients are required to provide accurate and complete information regarding their pet(s), including known medical conditions, allergies, medications, behavioral concerns, aggression, reactivity, resource guarding, escape tendencies, and any other circumstances that could affect the pet’s care or the safety of people or other animals.

Failure to disclose relevant information may affect Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services’ ability to safely provide care and may result in additional charges, termination of services, or the requirement that the pet be picked up immediately.

5. Assumption of Risk

By booking services, the Client acknowledges that they understand the inherent risks associated with pet care and voluntarily entrust their pet(s) to Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services.

While we take reasonable precautions and provide diligent care, no pet-care provider can guarantee that an animal will never become injured, ill, stressed, escape, have a behavioral incident, or experience another unforeseen event.

Our responsibility is to exercise reasonable care, supervision, and diligence appropriate to the circumstances. This agreement does not relieve Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services of responsibility for its own negligence, willful misconduct, or failure to provide the level of reasonable care agreed upon.

6. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a booking, payment, reservation, or otherwise requesting services from Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions are intended to establish clear expectations regarding the responsibilities of both the Client and Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services and to ensure the safety and well-being of all pets entrusted to our care.

Blue Ridge Buddies Pet Services reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions as necessary.
